Students: the best way to introduce yourself is to send a CV, a few words about yourself, and 1-3 science-related things you think are cool. These can be about anything at all, but preferably not related to anything I do. That would tell me much more about you.

For instance – personally, I think it's really cool how in computer science it is sometimes hard to "find hay in a haystack", or how high-dimensional geometry is very unintuitive, which is arguably the reason behind the incredible success of machine learning. What about you?
